Ein Trojaner welcher auch Mac OSX befallen kann ist gerade in Social Networks wie Facebook versteckt. Wer auf Links oder Banner mit u.a. dem inhalt “Is this you in this video?” klickt lädt und öffnet ein Java Programm mit dem trojan.osx.boonana.a, welches danach weitere Programme installieren kann und systemfiles ändern kann und das system nach aussen hin öffnet. (Sich selbst installieren ist verifiziert, ob es wirklich mehr kann ist fraglich)

Some security mavens have long theorized that as the Mac becomes more popular, we’d start to see malware that would start targeting the platform. Sure enough, this morning’s crop of email blasts from PR firms included a few notices of trojans that are affecting Mac users.

First, from SecureMac, comes word of trojan.osx.boonana.a, which comes disguised as a link on social networking sites asking “Is this you in this video?” Clicking the link downloads and runs a Java applet that then installs further applications to modify system files and open the system to password-free access. The other malicious apps report back to command and control servers, as well as hijack user accounts to spread the trojan through email spam.

The SecureMac press release notes that the “Java component of the trojan horse is cross-platform,” but it’s not clear from their statement that the other components are capable of running under Mac OS X.

Next, Intego reported that a similar Java trojan known as Koobface.A is also being spread through social networking systems such as Facebook and Twitter.

Worried about the glass back of your iPhone 4 getting smashed? If you have $13 and a few minutes, Hong Kong manufacturer CNN (Cellular Nationwide Network) can supply you with a nice looking aluminum backplate to replace the glass.

According to the original “how-to” post on Unplggd, the metal back is incredibly easy to install. You just remove the two screws on either side of the Dock Connector port, pop out the glass, slide on the metal cover and Boom! You have an attractive, custom iPhone 4. The sides are even beveled for a more comfortable using experience.

Wired’s website noted that a metal backplate should not affect the iPhone 4′s call quality thanks to the controversial and much-maligned external antenna design of the device.

You might want to order your backplate soon if you’re thinking about doing this. Since it has all of the usual artwork that comes with the regular iPhone 4, including the Apple logo and the famous “Designed by Apple in California” tag, chances are very good that Apple’s lawyers will shut down production (or at least the screen printing) of the backplates soon. CNN’s website is stating that the covers are currently backordered and that they’ll fill the orders as quickly as possible.

Warum es nicht in iChat integriert wurde verstehe ich nicht.. vielleicht kommt das noch.
Das ganze dient dazu, Videochats zwischen iPhones, iPods und Macs zu ermöglichen. Mac zu Mac ist ja bereits per iChat integriert.

Ich bin sehr sehr gespannt was uns Heute bei Apples Presse Event erwartet.
Es findet um 19:00 statt und neben der beliebten life Berichterstattung einiger Blogs (engadget z.B.) gibt es eventuell auch wieder einen Videostream direkt von Apple. Ausserdem wird TUAW danach noch seine TUAW TV Live Show laufen lassen, wo über alles neue diskutiert wird…

Was kommt Heute? iLife und MacBook Air sind ja bereits sicher, und das OS X Lion vorgestellt wird ist auch kaum noch auszuschließen…

Neue Benutzeroberfläche (Marble) und Facebook Integration waren ja schon lange als Gerücht unterwegs.
Ausserdem hörten wir ja von einigen Features die den Sprung von iOS nach OS X schaffen (Rubberband scrolling…), also hoffe ich auf einen AppStore für den Mac. Sehr viele iOS Apps sind nämlich wesentlich besser als ihre Alternativen auf dem Mac (Feedreader usw)
(Das neue OS X würde dann ca. in einem Jahr final veröffentlicht werden)

Ich freue mich übrigens sehr auf das leichtere, kleinere und günstigere MacBook Air, ich glaube es ist perfekt für Unterwegs zum Auflegen…

Was kommt noch, iWork mit Cloud wäre an der Zeit, updates der Mac Mini’s (und eventuell auch MBP’s), Facebook kauf, iTunes Cloud, …

Nicht zu vergessen, das NIE ZUVOR DA GEWESENE FEATURE, für das Apple extra Mitarbeiter einstellte..

Es scheint einigen gar nicht aufzufallen, einige sind durch ihren Standort auch nicht betroffen. Aber bei der Serverfarm von Akamai scheint so einiges Heute nicht in Ordnung zu sein…

Unter anderem ist Apple davon betroffen, welche ihren Content noch nicht auf ihrer neuen eigenen Farm sondern dort lagern. So sind seit morgens hier in Berlin (und anderen Städten) weder die Apple Homepage, iTunes Server, Me.com noch die Mobile Me Dienste zu erreichen…. (apple.store.com läuft)

(Oder was noch besser wäre, ein schwarzhütiger Hacker hat seine Finger im Spiel…)

This is great! Photographer Jordan Hollender and musician Scott Harris put together this music video that covers Survivor’s classic anthem and uses only iPad apps as instruments. The video itself was recorded with a couple of Canon HDSLR video cameras, but as you can see in the embedded version above, all of the music is created with iPad apps. Unfortunately, they don’t identify the apps used, but that sounds like a great job for you TUAW commenters. I think I saw Pianolo HD being played on the floor there, and Pocket Drums is being used as percussion, but I couldn’t find the guitar app or the DJ app that they are using.

Of course, what I really want to know is where he got that sweet lightning bolt iPad strap. The video’s great, though. Apparently it was all lit in one day and shot in another. There’s no word on how long it took to make the song, but with the iPad involved, it was probably both magical and revolutionary.
